NYC & NJ Project Estimator (Ballpark Only)

This tool gives a rough NYC-area ballpark range based on typical labor and material trends. Final pricing is only provided in a written estimate after we inspect access, existing conditions, and finish selections.

Actual filing costs and professional fees (architect/engineer, expeditor) vary by project and are confirmed in your written estimate.

By using this tool you agree this is an approximate range only and not a guaranteed quote or offer.

Estimator & Pricing

How accurate is this estimator?

This calculator provides a realistic NYC ballpark range based on size, scope, finish level, access, and borough. Because every home is unique, it may not capture hidden issues or building-specific rules. It should be used as a helpful guide — not a final quote. For the most accurate price, please contact us for a free estimate.

What affects the final price?

Project size, finish level, materials, access, demo, lead-safe requirements, timeline, and any required permits all impact the final price.

What does “Finish Level” mean (Standard, Premium, Luxury)?

Standard: Quality and budget-friendly.
Premium: Higher-grade finishes and better brands.
Luxury: Top-tier materials, designer brands, and custom features.

What does “Style Level” mean (American, Modern/Minimal, Italian/European)?

Standard American: Classic clean style.
Modern/Minimal: Sleek lines, neutral colors, LED accents.
Italian/European Luxury: High-end stone, premium fixtures, large-format tiles.

What does it mean if my home is pre-1978 or may contain lead?

Homes built before 1978 may contain lead-based paint, which becomes dangerous when disturbed. We follow full EPA Lead-Safe procedures: plastic barriers, HEPA sanding, controlled demo, and certified cleanup. Lead-safe protocols may increase the cost slightly.

Does having lead increase the cost?

Yes. Lead-safe work requires slower demolition, HEPA equipment, special cleanup, and certified personnel, which adds to labor and materials.

What is your payment schedule? (Including HRA rules)

Homeowners: Small deposit, progress payments, final payment at completion.
HRA / HASA: No large deposits allowed. Payments are released after approval and verification. Change orders must be pre-approved by HRA. We handle all paperwork.

What happens if unexpected issues are found during the project?

If hidden damage is discovered (water, mold, structural issues, electrical problems), we document it and review options with you. No additional work is performed without approval.

How do you handle change orders?

All changes are written, priced, and approved before work continues. HRA-funded jobs require official approval before any additional work can be performed.

Can you provide itemized estimates?

Yes. We offer itemized breakdowns upon request for transparency, especially on larger remodels.

Permits & Compliance

Who handles NYC DOB permits and compliance?

We handle all permit filings including DOB, DOT, HPD, landmark, electrical, plumbing, and sidewalk permits.

Do I need permits for my project?

Structural work, major remodels, roofing, plumbing, electrical, and sidewalk work usually require permits. We'll advise you based on your project.

Project Timeline & Process

How soon can you start, and how long will my project take?

Small jobs: 1–5 days. Medium remodels: 1–2 weeks. Kitchens & baths: 2–4 weeks. Larger projects: 4–6+ weeks. Rush scheduling may be available.

Can I live in my home during the project?

Yes, most of the time. We isolate work zones with plastic barriers, HEPA filtration, and floor protection. Heavy demolition may require temporary relocation.

How do you protect my home and manage dust?

We use floor protection, plastic barriers, zip-walls, HEPA vacuums, and daily cleanup. Lead-safe procedures are used when required.

How will I receive updates during the project?

You’ll receive regular updates via text, calls, or photos. A dedicated project manager handles communication.

Do you warranty your work?

Yes — we provide a written workmanship warranty plus manufacturer warranties on materials (roofing, pavers, windows, fixtures, etc.).

Design, Materials & Support

Can you help with design and material selection?

Yes — we help with layout, fixtures, tiles, floors, paver design, and finish selections. We can also provide 3D mood boards.

Can I send photos instead of scheduling a visit?

Yes. Sending photos or videos is the fastest way to get a quick estimate.

Do you offer free estimates?

Yes — all estimates and consultations are 100% free.

How should I prepare my home before work begins?

Remove personal items, secure valuables, move pets to a safe area, and clear nearby furniture if possible. We handle protection for floors and walls.
